Painter, engraver, and full-time fresco artist, Giorgio Casarin lives and creates his works at his own atelier in Dosson di Casier, Treviso (Italy) - tel. 0422-490977 cell. 3318031500.
Born in Noale (VE), raised in Treviso, from a young age he showed a strong artistic inclination in both painting and music. He composes music and song lyrics that he performs himself, taking as reference figures of the time such as: Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Piero Ciampi, and Frank Zappa's Mothers.
At the end of the 1970s, Giorgio Casarin, not yet twenty, made his definitive choice towards pictorial expression. He attended courses in art history and anatomical drawing. He participated in the Veneto art scene and was already present with numerous exhibitions, often with social themes.
He met artists such as: Carmelo Zotti, Gina Roma, Romano Zaniol, Giorgio Ciliberti, etc.
Later, the artist acquired and deepened his knowledge of fresco, encaustic, sgraffito, acrylic, and mosaic, enriching his activity with frescoes and murals.
After attending for a period the "Bottega dell'incisione" of Luigi Marcon in Vittorio Veneto, he trained in printmaking techniques at the historic Stamperia Artistica of Giuliano and Giancarlo Busato in Vicenza. He came into direct contact with artists such as: Vico CalabrĂ², Boscolo Natta, Andrea Bianconi, Antonio Carta, and the new generation of emerging artists who were regulars at the workshop. He produces etchings, aquatints, drypoints, ceramolli, and lithographs.
He acquired a rather personal technique of three-dimensional low-relief painting and sculpture, using materials such as wood, fabric, plastic material, vinyl-acrylic paste, and paint.
His most recent works attest to the artist's journey towards sensory art, which by its definition is a set of emotional ingredients blended in the sphere of creativity for anyone who wants not only to look, but also to touch, experiment, make the work their own, interact.
Often the music of Wagner, Stravinsky, Varèse, Mussorgsky, Part, and Cage are sources of inspiration along with the social and literary themes that have always been present in his art.
The material certainty of the low-relief object means that the works as a whole are captured by the irrepressible desire for knowledge and make them an elegant pictorial expression halfway between the aseptic fantasies of spatialism and the anarchic freedom of Paul Klee.
Giorgio Casarin's artistic activity is very intense, and the numerous solo and group exhibitions and murals that follow one another in Italy and abroad are clear evidence of this.
His creations can be found in public and private collections, both Italian and foreign.
