.....The freshness, the luminosity, the beauty of simplicity, the serenity, the clarity of the line, the perfection of detail, the mastery of technique characterize the works of the artist Concetta Carleo.
The apparent simplicity of the setting and the representations derives from the mastery of technique evident both in the overall vision of the work and in the careful observation of the details.

The spontaneity of the figures’ attitudes and the atmosphere of the setting constantly reveal a sensuality, almost a disquieting allusion to the senses, a sweet eroticism that emerges in every brushstroke and in the sinuosity of the forms....

  Dr. S. Telese

.....Carleo paints beauty, nature, its shadows, its gleams, its trembling languor, its voluptuous invitations, its embraces, far away. And its shifting horizons, vivid and subdued, misty, juicy, rarefied, the sunlight clear and faded in half-tones, in chiaroscuro, the wandering and dimmed moon on the sea connect, with recalcitrant resistance, to human joy and suffering.
The harmony of colors becomes an ethereal throb, beauty seems to withdraw, it dims and moans, shines, sparkles, is exhausted.
And solitude, melancholy, existential discomfort stand out, clear, beyond real consistency, becoming loud and faint voices and then whispers; faint longings, murmurs, rustlings, deliriums.
The artist, with calibrated technical skill, seeks and finds compositional balance.
The color is dispensed with measured balance. The tones decline, slide over each other without discord, without clashes. The sinuous, flexible, accommodating line sharply defines the color.
It supports it, directs it, merges into it, melts, withdraws, disappears. And harmony reigns supreme, among superhuman silences, circumscribed but immense spaces, lost, far away, among deep tenderness and expectations scratched onto the screen of memory, in a light and disjointed plot, passionate with a longing for the sublime beyond the corrosive and impenetrable consistency of everyday life.
Concetta Carleo, who has a cursus honorum studded with prestigious awards, refines her artistic communication, seeks new expressive modulations that refer to her artistic world without overturning it tout-court. Her silences, the fragility, the helplessness of modern man, the abandonments, the discouragements, the renunciations, the silences will still find their crystallization in her colors, in her precious luminism, in her subtle and iridescent transparencies, in her sparkling veins, in the aristocratic throbs of her soul reverberated on the canvas.
