About his Art

The painter Elvio Ricca was born in Rho/Milan (Italy) on March 9, 1954, and since 1976 has lived in French-speaking Switzerland.
Self-taught and experimental, he began painting at the age of 17 and still retains the gaze of a child who discovers and marvels every day.

He sees beyond the opaque surface of things and endlessly recreates the perfection of original life.
His journey begins with figurative art and then continues with surrealism.

He denies himself nothing to express and learn, until he arrives at what we can today consider his hallmark: the scaled sequence of sinuous forms of his own pure invention and the ever-present rolling spheres that absorb and/or diffuse light like little suns, as if they were a gentle call to life, to rationality, to harmony, to what remains unchanged in time and space.

The forms he draws are soft, sinuous, mysterious, always in motion like a script suggested by the images of his subconscious, an exclusive and yet infinitely varied expression with the aim of translating ideas into images.

Curriculum

1973/1975 shares a studio with the Artist Painter Lucio Pedotti, in Rho-Milan/Italy.

Participates in several small competitions and group exhibitions in Rho and Milan.

1976 moves to French-speaking Switzerland.
