About her Art

…Instinct, passion, freedom. These are the key elements of the works of Fiamma Morelli, an internationally renowned artist considered among the best interpreters of conceptual informalism. Like thoughts swept away by a never-ending hurricane, her brushstrokes move: tense, broken, and curvilinear, with dense and brilliant colors. They are voiceless words that burst from the canvases to fill, soothe, and heal every need for expression…
Fiamma Morelli was born in Orbetello, Tuscany, and trained at the "Duccio Buoninsegna" Art Institute in Siena. Fascinated by Flemish-inspired hyperrealism, the first period of her artistic journey moved along those paths, favoring, in particular, those that led her towards surrealism and metaphysics. However, Fiamma Morelli is a curious, sensitive, and ever-evolving artist. Thus, she later approached Eastern culture and learned ancient techniques, eventually adopting the use of the palette knife, the Chinese brush, and intaglio engraving. Then came the great change, the warmest, most prolific, and truest season: the artist reached her full maturity with abstract expressionism. Now free from all academic rules, unbound from any demand for order and adherence to reality, the artist follows only her inner movements… Vittorio Sgarbi 2014

In 1982 she inaugurated the permanent exhibition of her works and began teaching in her painting studio in Rome. Since 1985, she has introduced the Edwards method "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" in her drawing and painting courses. Since 1992, she has also devoted herself to teaching ceramics (the "Wild Ceramics"© method) and to creating Raku ceramics and glass fusion objects. Since 1998, she has extended her knowledge to the therapeutic use of color with the "Pranic Healing" technique by Master Choa Kok and, since 2001, with Peter Mandel's Chromopuncture. In 2002, her teaching experience was enriched with the "Martenot" method.
In 2006, in Rome, she founded the Cultural Association "L’XI MUSA," a center for arts and disciplines for the activation of creative potential, and a permanent exhibition space. Since 2011, her works have been exhibited in the Mega Art Virtual Gallery, a cultural association directed by artist Claudio Giulianelli. In 2012, she was contacted by Prof. Vittorio Sgarbi, who paid tribute to the artist with several critical profiles, inviting her to participate in exhibitions he attended.
From 2012 to 2015, she collaborated with Prof. Sillato, who invited her to join G. Sillato's Metaformism©, and her works were exhibited in the "Contemporary Art in Ancient Mansions" Project. From 2012 to today, she has collaborated with Prof. Puntelli within his prestigious cultural projects: Image, The Hypnotist's Labyrinth, Eternity in Art, Infinity. In recent years, she has participated in events in Milan at Palazzo dei Giureconsulti, Official Event of Expo in Città 2015, Expo Gate West Pavilion, Palazzo Sforza; at the end-of-Jubilee art event in Rome, at the Basilica of Santi Quattro Coronati, and in the exhibition for the sixtieth anniversary of the Treaties of Rome at Palazzo Ferrajoli. She has appeared for years in periodicals, yearbooks, and industry catalogs, including the Mondadori Modern Art Catalog from No. 48 to No. 53. She is also featured in a Giorgio Mondadori editorial line with a series of four books entitled "Le Scelte di Puntelli" by Giammarco Puntelli, and by the same author, in the book "Artist Profiles" published by Arte In.
