His Biography

IVANO PETRUCCI is a painter, writer, art performer, street artist, and art teacher. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and for over ten years has participated in numerous projects, art competitions, and solo exhibitions of national and international scope, including an artist residency at ADAH – Abu Dhabi Art Hub, in the United Arab Emirates, where he presented a mini solo show within the facility. He develops an expressionist research based on the movements of the soul and the psychological dynamics of the human figure, which is represented as a sensory vibration; but more than anything else, he expresses himself through the power of colors, through “masks,” mirrors, so to speak, made of fascinating, evocative, even everlasting features, in which one can reflect oneself. Manlio Gaddi, Art Critic, maintains that “Ivano Petrucci’s painting is a continuous surprise, both in terms of color and content; a surprise for the impact of the colors, sometimes tonal, warm and diffuse, sometimes jarring and acidic like Mannerist painting reminiscent of Pontormo; a surprise for the variety of themes, which if they reveal an interest in women, can likewise deal with feelings and fears.” His paintings were chosen in 2016 by director Roberto Mariotti for his latest film, "Una vita in cambio," to decorate an interior set. In 2018, he presented his latest solo exhibition entitled "Colors and Shapes" at the "Paolo Maffei" gallery in Padua. He is the winner of the “Writers Street Art” competition organized by the Municipality of Manziana, a mural painting completed in July/August 2019. His latest Street Art project, entitled "Encounters," conceived in collaboration with curator Silvia Filippi and presented by the Municipality of Manziana, was promoted by the Lazio Region through the “Lazio Street Art” call and was completed in March 2021. On December 20, 2019, he developed an Art Performance, in collaboration with artist Violetta Carpino and Giada Lo Russo, entitled “Explorations, The Search for Balance between Body Mind Soul,” on the occasion of the "MACRO REBIRTH DAY, the day of Re-Birth, with Michelangelo Pistoletto and the ambassadors of the Third Paradise, at the MACRO – Museum of Contemporary Art, Rome. His latest Art Performance was performed on October 22, 2022 at the Acquario Romano in Rome, entitled “Beyond the Mask,” as part of the “PROJECTIONS – architecture, cinema and art” series by Artelive360, in collaboration with Barbara Pinna.
