His Biography

Paolo Gheri was born in Florence in 1940 and lives near Siena. He attended the University of Florence, graduating in pedagogy; he worked as a teacher and as a school principal, always maintaining an interest in art and art history.
He began drawing and painting from a young age; in 1962 he attended a free drawing course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and from 1962 to 1964 he took painting lessons with Prof. Carlo Capezzuoli in Poggibonsi. However, Gheri is essentially a self-taught painter. He practices various techniques: pencil and ink drawing, acrylic, oil, tempera, and above all, watercolor.
His works can be found in private collections in Italy and abroad.
He collaborates with several art and culture magazines; he has published some books and essays on art and art education.
